Entry for the
 Rock-off contest to design a Steampunk fairytale character.I've always liked the idea of flying ships as an image, and wanted to create a less common character for the contest, so I plucked for Sinbad, but in a crazy airship. This has pretty much taken all my free time for the last 10 days or so! The biggest difficulty I had in making the image was adding steampunk and victorian elements, whilst keeping the character looking sufficiently Persian to be Sinbad, and as a result, the character is not quite as off the wall and crazy as I originally imagined. I tried to steer clear of using textures to create a more 'brushy' look more like how I originally learnt to paint on paper. Anyway, as always feedback would be greatfully recieved! It looks as if you've really mastered painting metal, with the highlights in the right place, and the texture looking correct. The things like the goggles, oxygen mask and furry collar tell you he is a pilot, and the cutlass, little compass in the arm, and the pistol say that he's a pirate as well. Well themed, and well presented.
